Study fertility of the giant African snail Achatina fulica
Abstract
The fertility of the African land snail, Achatina fulica, was studied by finding the relationship between the length of the shell of the adult African snail (mother) and the number of its eggs. The relationship between them was direct, but the relationship between the wet weight of the adult African snail (the mother) and the number of eggs she lays fluctuated, being direct in some weights and inverse in others.
